Day 288
The Lord’s Last Meal
Luke 22:7–20; Matthew 26:26–28
The Passover had come. Peter and John prepared the feast in a house in Jerusalem. Jesus and the disciples ate together in a large upstairs room. “I’ve been looking forward to this Passover,” he said. “I want to eat this meal with you before I suffer. I’ll never eat it again until the kingdom comes.”
Jesus took a loaf of bread. “Take and eat this. It represents my body which is broken for you.”
Then he took a cup of wine. “Take this and share it. It represents the blood which I will shed for forgiveness of sins.”
Questions: What does the loaf of bread represent? What does the cup of wine represent?
