Jesus Ignores the Sabbath

Part Two
Mark 3:1–6

Jesus went into the synagogue on the Sabbath. There was a man who had a disabled hand. The people wondered if he would heal on the Sabbath. Jesus asked them, “Is it against the law to do good on the Sabbath? What about to do harm? Does your law allow me to save a life on the Sabbath? How about to kill?” They didn’t answer.

“Stretch out your hand,” he said to the man. The hand was healed. Right away, the Pharisees plotted with the Romans to destroy Jesus.

Questions: What did Jesus ask the people? Did the Pharisees want to destroy Jesus because he healed the man or because he ignored the Sabbath law?
